Uninstalling SmartCore
Uninstalling SmartCore is straightforward.
1. Select Start Menu > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs
2. Locate SmartCore in the list and Click remove to uninstall the software.
Please note: If any prerequisites were installed along with SmartCore this process will not remove them. This is standard Windows Installer behaviour. It is quite likely the prerequisites are also being used by other programs and so removing them might cause problems to those applications. The prerequisites used by SmartCore are listed here.
SmartSoft uses the PostgreSQL database. To Uninstall PostgreSQL you need to do the following:
Uninstall PostgreSQL
To remove the software go to Start Menu > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. Locate PostgreSQL and click remove.
Delete the Postgres account
The PostgreSQL installer creates an account for PostgreSQL at install time which must be manually removed via Start Menu > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Computer Management . In the left pane select Local User and Groups > Users. The right pane will show the users. Right click on postgres and select the delete option. A message box will pop up with a warning. Click Yes to confirm the delete.
Delete the PostgreSQL Directory
When you delete PostgreSQL using Add or Remove programs the uninstall process does not delete the PostgreSQL directory as this might contain valuable data. If you no longer require this directory you can manually delete it.
Locate the PostgreSQL directory, usually it is Files c:\Program Files\PostgreSQL or c:\Program Files (x86)\PostgreSQL and delete the directory.
If you do need to uninstall the other prerequisites locate them using Add or Remove programs and click Remove.
