All SmartSoft programs write events and messages to an Event log. Event logs are maintained by the operating system and are preferred over simple error files.

 

If a SmartSoft program is behaving abnormally the Event Log should be the first place you look. You can view the logs via Start Menu > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer. Also note the SmartCore Control program has a small window showing the latest events as they are added to the SmartCoreLog.
