Configuring SmartKeys

 

Select SmartKeys from the left hand pane of the SmartSoft Configuration Drill-Down. The Right Pane will display all the current SmartKeys. The SmartKey names will be displayed to Users when they Log on so using descriptive names like Reception Desk, Counter 2 etc. is a good idea.

 

The Room No. is that number that is displayed to Customers and announced along with the Ticket no. when calling a Customer for service.

 

The Arrow specifies whether a direction arrow will also be displayed and, if so, the arrow direction.

 

The Voice specifies the Voice to use when calling a Customer. Note: This can also be changed by a User via SmartKey or the System16 Keypad.

 

Check Issue Tickets if the SmartKey should be allowed to print tickets. Typically used in systems where a Receptionist, who having first ascertained the nature of the visit, selects the appropriate Queue and Issue a ticket for a Customer.

 

The Counter and Sound field are address fields. They and are use to route System16 messages to Counter Displays and or Counter Sounders. In the form below when Desk 1 call a customer for service a System16 message is also despatched to the Counter Display with an Address of 1 and the Sound Display with an Address of 1.
