SmartKey
SmartKey Overview
SmartKey is a Web Based Application that acts as a Virtual Keypad and has similar functionality to the System16 hardware keypad. Using SmartKey you can Issue tickets to Customers, Call Waiting Customers for service, transfer Customers between Queues, record Category information, etc.
When you use SmartKey the pages displayed in your Web Browser are dynamic and automatically refresh to show the latest information. To navigate between the pages of SmartKey you should use the Issue and Call Tabs and not the browser Back and Forward buttons. Because the pages are dynamic not static if you do use the Back and Forward buttons you will likely not get the view you expect.
Once you have logged on to SmartKey and are serving a Customer you can minimise the Web Browser to save desk space. When you finish using SmartKey you should always Log Out using the link in the top right of the page. If you close the Web Browser without logging out the system will show the SmartKey as still in use. It will take a couple of minutes before the system determines the SmartKey is no longer in use. During this time a new user will be unable to Log on to the SmartKey you were using.
Only SmartKeys that have ticket issue enabled are allowed to issue tickets. If a SmartKey is not allowed to issue a ticket clicking the Print button on the Issue page will cause a warning message to appear. Note: Issue Enable / Disable is configured by the Queue Management System Administrator using SmartCenter.
